After the acquisition of a key portrait by American artist George Bellows, The Barber Institute of Fine Arts held an in-depth exhibition, events and research programme. I was commissioned to provide designs for all aspects of the project from a custom logo and identity, exhibition graphics and printed guide through to all marketing collateral. Key aspects for the project were making the guide sympathetic to the newsprint of the day both in terms of materials and design and also to create facsimile copies of publications form the time period from scanned pages. These scans were carefully retouched and reformed to create printed vintage recreations.

A key part of any exhibition at the Barber is a rich learning room, extending the exhibition, bring the artist or subject to life as well as proving practical activities for all ages.
We designed the entire suite of assets to support the exhibition from preview cards, print and web advertising, flyers, posters to the custom exhibition guide. We also created a complete package for the accompanying symposium encased in a custom designed folder.
